Our client based in Baldonnell are hiring a Full time Transport Planner.

You will work as a Transport Planner within a busy Transport department, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Tasks and responsibilities:
• Assign customer sales to transport in the most cost effective and efficient way to make a delivery for imports and exports.
• Plan relevant transport and manage linehauls for the UK and Ireland operation.
• Strive to ensure that all delivery requests are met for all customers in both UK and Ireland.
• Maintain Haulier, and customer relationships.
• Create reports and delivery schedules for customers and different departments.
• Liaise and communicate with Customers
• Work closely with the Sales team to ensure that accurate order information is obtained before a delivery is scheduled.
• Work Closely with the customs to ensure accurate information is provided for collections for Import into Ireland.
• Ensure self-management of workload and multitask by communicating with customers across different communication platforms.
• Maintain files and records and provide quick accurate information when required.
• Work to a high standard and take responsibility for delivering all expected tasks.
• Meet targets and deadlines to the required standards and within agreed timeframes.

Requirements:
• Holder of a current clean Category B Driving Licence (required).
• Good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
• Excellent organisation skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Flexible attitude to working hours & shift patterns to support the needs of the business.
• Prior experience in a transport planning role.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suites, such as Excel and Word.
• Ability to work as a part of a team, flexibility is key.
• Demonstrated problem solver.
• Ownership: Clarifies accountabilities, overlaps, and gaps, and remain motivated through difficult times.

Schedule:
• Monday – Friday 8am-5pm/9am-6pm
• Weekend cover will also be required in rotation.
